In December 2013, GVE Projects Ltd emerged one of the six pioneer winners of the General Electric (GE); United States African Development Foundation (USADF) and United States Agency for International Development’s (USAID) Power Africa Off-Grid Energy Challenge.
With an awarded grant of USD100,000.00, and an additional investment of $20,000.00 from GVE, we completed the implementation of two independent mini-grids of 9kWp capacities each in two other sub-villages (Umuokwu & Umuode)of Egbeke community.
This project brought about a cumulative capacity of 24kWp in Egbeke community.
The new project serves 240 additional homes (160 mini-grid homes and 80 IEEE_SV PBKs), 1,920 people (@ 8persons per house).
The project created 36jobs and created USD5,250.00 in wealth, offsets 68MT of CO2 annually in each of the communities.
The projects were completed within 8months.
